Since our last Reunion I have kept busy in New York City serving as a Councillor of Actors' Equity Association. I am a Vice Chair of the Equal Employment Opportunities Committee and Chair the Senior Performers Sub-Committee. I enjoyed a run Off Broadway of the revival of THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER playing the role of "Nurse Preen" originally played by Mary Wickes. I received nice notices in the NYTIMES and THE POST. Catering work makes life interesting as I work at venues all over the City from museums to universities and even The Intrepid, the WW II aircraft carrier. I still enjoy singing with the choir at St. Paul and St. Andrew UMC and am active in P.E.O. supporting women's educational projects. I travel to Minneapolis/St. Paul frequently to visit my mother and sister. We celebrated Mother's 90th birthday last summer and this summer we celebrated Kathy's 65th. Memorial Week-end, Our AFS Sister from Uruguay, Julia Dominguez, met me in NYC and we traveled together to see Mom and Kathy. My husband Robert continues his writing and recording audio books. As a Tony Voter, we get to see all the Broadway Plays and Musicals. Luckily, we live in the Theatre District of Hell's Kitchen. Sorry to miss our 45th Reunion. I look forward to the 50th. If you are visiting NYC, I am always happy to take a walk on the High Line!

Mark Norvell
Six years ago I drastically changed my career path from sign language interpreter to high school math teacher. Wish I would have figured out sooner that this is what I wanted to be when I grew up! I love my job teaching geometry and algebra II at Jenks High School.
Mark and I have been married almost 38 years...the magic continues! Our oldest daughter, Amy, lives in Estonia with her Russian-Estonian husband, Robert, and our two precious grandsons, Christopher Mark, age almost 4, and Michael Aleksander, age 1 month. Our son, Scott, lives in Queens, NY, and is a musician-composer. Our baby, Susannah, is at George Washington Univ. in her first year of law school. Mark and I spend a lot of our vacation time visiting our children.

Pretty much the same as the ten before: managing or overseeing the cleanup of hazardous waste sites, with a few forays into policy and rule-writing, and IT strategy planning for the Washington State version of the EPA. I'm now working out of our Yakima office, and still living in Ellensburg. In my non-work life, I'm doing a little gunsmithing, playing guitar, and working with a group developing a retreat center that's morphing into an Eco-Village.

I have been in the Substance Abuse field since 1995. My journey started when I was released from doing community service in an enclosed environment 07/05/1994. Ended up here in the KCMO area, started going to college studying what I knew best alcohol and drug abuse. Got my MSW degree in 2003 from KU. Started out working with teenagers did that for 10 years and now work at a company that provides services to individuals that have gotten DWI's. I thought that I had some good drink stories, but I have heard some better ones. I haved been married for over 13 years, my wife is also a Social Worker, she has 4 grown kids, and we have 7 grandkids ranging in ages from 17-9.
Did not know I was going to live this long, or I would have taken better care of myself. It just seems like a few years ago it was 1969, but then I did inhale and swallow a lot booze and other stuff. I have been sober from alcohol and illeagal drugs for over 15 years.

The company where I worked since graduating from KSU closed in 2001. So after working there for 28 years I decided it was time to retire. Since then we have traveled around and have taken up golf. Now we are looking to retire to a warmer climate. Hopefully to a site that is on or near a golf course.
